Contributor Guidelines

Truth Press is a volunteer-run, non-commercial platform for independent journalism. These guidelines establish the editorial and professional standards we expect from all contributors.

Our Editorial Standards

Journalistic Principles

All contributors are expected to uphold recognized standards of professional journalism:

• Report truthfully, accurately, and in good faith
• Verify information independently before publication
• Clearly distinguish between reported facts, analysis, and opinion
• Respect source confidentiality at all times
• Minimize harm — especially to vulnerable individuals and sources
• Disclose potential conflicts of interest to the editorial team

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Contributors must disclose to the editorial team any financial, personal, or professional interest in the subjects they cover. Stories may be reassigned or declined if an unresolvable conflict exists. We do not publish sponsored content, advertorials, or paid-for coverage of any kind.

Editorial Review

All submitted articles are reviewed by our editorial team before publication. We may request revisions, clarifications, or additional sourcing. Final publication decisions rest with the editorial team.

Content Standards

What We Publish

• Original investigative reporting
• Analysis and expert commentary, clearly labeled as such
• Opinion pieces attributed to named or pseudonymous authors
• Long-form journalism, features, and documentary accounts
• Photo essays and multimedia stories with proper attribution

What We Do Not Publish

• Plagiarism or content that infringes third-party copyright
• Deliberately false, fabricated, or misleading information
• Unverified allegations presented as established fact
• Harassment, hate speech, or content targeting individuals for harm
• Promotional or sponsored content disguised as journalism
• Content that violates source confidentiality agreements
• Private information published without consent and without public interest justification

Linking Policy

• External links must be relevant and substantiate your reporting
• Limit active links to no more than 3 per article (excluding citations and references)
• No affiliate links, link exchanges, or link schemes

Images and Media

• Use only images you own, have licensed, or that are in the public domain
• Provide proper attribution for all third-party images
• Do not upload video files directly — embed from YouTube, Vimeo, or equivalent platforms

Corrections and Updates

If you discover an error in your published work, notify the editorial team immediately. We correct errors promptly and transparently in accordance with our Correction Policy.

Your Rights as a Contributor

You retain:

• Full copyright to your original work
• The right to publish your content elsewhere after a 7-day exclusivity period
• Control over your author profile and biography
• The right to update or request removal of your published content

Truth Press provides the platform, technical infrastructure, and editorial support. Contributions are voluntary; we do not offer financial compensation.

Account and Content Enforcement

We reserve the right to decline, edit, or remove content that does not meet these guidelines. Accounts may be restricted or suspended for repeated violations, publication of demonstrably false information, or conduct that undermines the integrity of the platform.

Enforcement decisions consider journalistic context and proportionality — we do not penalize contributors for covering controversial topics or expressing challenging viewpoints within the bounds of factual, attributed reporting.
